Xitels' INport enables superior digital backups from turntable or cassette

If you have a collection of
vinyl laying around or even cassette tapes, this small external device can
help you digitize and save them to disc or CD. According to the Xitel
page
, their USB device makes ripping vinyl a piece of cake! Bypassing
the soundcard and utilizing your stereo amp, the INport and its
accompanying software renders crystal clear results. Being an external device
they also claim superior performance by rendering PC component interference a
non-issue.

Unlike a computer soundcard, the
INport has been designed using the latest professional recording
technology. That's what enables it to perform so much better than a
soundcard. The inclusion of an advanced rendering engine and full ground
loop isolation ensures outstanding performance with full dynamic response.
It even comes as a complete kit with absolutely everything you'll need to
get up and going. There hasn't been an easier way to record back into your
PC and digitally save the natural vibrance of all your music!

Included with your INPort are a recording and track
compiling program by CFB Software. These programs let you record and
manage your files in a very simple and easy to use way, overcoming the
complexities associated with most recording software. With CFB Software
you'll be up and recording in no time.

The task of ripping each track is made easier with the
included LPRipper. You can record an entire LP or tape as a single WAV file
on your computer, the software auto sets the recording level and will
break the file into tracks ready for conversion to MP3 or burn to
a CD, all unattended. The auto split feature works by calculating
the gap between songs to see if this represents a track mark. You can also
replace any hiss between tracks with silence. The INport will retail for 70
dollars US.
