Acer CRW1610A Review

BJC1 used our newssubmit to tell us that there is a review of the Acer CRW1610A. This baby also Writes SD2 perfect, along with ALL other known protections. Here's a part of the conclusion:

Highs:

  • Seamless Link is a great alternative to other buffer underrun protection technologies.
  • Very good seek times.
  • Fairly decent transfer rates for CD-R and pressed media. Slow starting, but reached its rated 40x speed.
  • Prassi's PrimoCD Plus is a welcome change from Easy CD Creator.
  • Low priced.

    Lows:

  • The drive uses Z-CLV when writing at 16x. This makes it the slowest 16x drive available.
  • Poor DAE performance. Slow extraction rates. Accuracy of extracted audio was questionable.
  • High CPU usage when reading CD's.
  • The interface for VERITAS's DLA software is clunky and only allows you to use one CD-RW drive at a time. I want DirectCD back!(?)
