CDRWcentral.com received the retail version of Acer's CRW2010A drive. This new 20x 10x 40x CD-RW performs pretty bad according to the review.

ConclusionWell ..... it's not what we hoped ...... the Acer CRW2010A is not a fast drive when reading at 40x. It also has a some strange problems with blank media, it can't read the rated speed of some of the 20x and 24x media that we have here. The drive is also slow when it comes to writing at 16x and 20x, and acts like a 16x CD-RW Recorder in the timings taken to write a 650 meg disc. It can not write to 90 / 99 minute media. It has no sub-channel data reading / writing.The CRW2010A does have two points going for it, it's quiet, and can make SD2 backups, but can not read these disc's !
If your looking for a 20x CD-RW Recorder that works as a 20x CD-RW Recorder, your better off looking elsewhere....... |
