MasterBurner took the time to tell us that TomsHardWare Guide has a small piece about the Afreey 25x DVD drive. This drive is able to read DVD's at 25 speed and CD-ROM's at 100 speed using the True X technology that you might know from the KenWood drives.
Afreey has made a name for itself with its 50x and greater CD-ROM drives. At Computex, the company released a new 25 speed DVD ROM drive. It can also read CDs at 100x speeds. Afreey uses Zen Research's True-X technology to increase the performance of its drives. True-X uses a multi-beam laser to read multiple tracks, however, the rotation speed of the drives is not different from standard drives. It's a novel approach to drive performance. Maintaining the stability of the disc at higher rotation speeds has its own problems so, Afreey relies on True-X to stay within the tolerance of the discs to higher speed rotation. |
