All in one LP to CD recorder for the technically challenged

I must give
Engadget
the credit for spotting this appliance.
For those of us with a box of vinyl
still laying around or better yet, parents that wish they could get all their
favorite oldies on CD for the car. This all-in-one system can take those
favorite vinyl albums or even 45's and record them handily to crisp,
clean CD (CD-R/RW) format.

The unit also features an AM/FM radio, 32
track music memory, repeat and shuffle options for the CD player, a headphone
jack, and a ceramic cartridge for the turntable needle. Comes with a remote
control, two "AA" batteries, and a 45rpm adapter. Dimensions: 9.25" x 14.5" x
18.8". That's the good news.

One drawback to the system is the price - $500
bucks, ouch! But, I like the idea itself. If there was a different, more
contemporary styling, say in the line of Bang&Olufsen Beosound 3000, this could be a marketable
gadget. Anyway, you can see or purchase the device over at First Street Online.
