After announcements of other movie studios, also Universal Pictures has revealed it will release Ultra HD Blu-ray movies. The first releases are planned this summer. The first Ultra HD Blu-ray releases from Universal Pictures will be the new Bourne movie and Warcraft.
Also Everest, Lucy, Lone Survivor and The Huntsman: Winter's War are planned. Besides being available in the 4K / Ultra HD resolution, the movies will also support HDR.
Earlier Sony, Fox, Paramount and Warner Bros. announced to release Ultra HD Blu-ray movies.
It's expected that Ultra HD Blu-ray releases will be slightly more expensive than regular Blu-ray movies and also a Ultra HD Blu-Ray player is required.
