Amazon.com discounting UMD movies for PSP by 30%

Well we have just a couple days left before the mighty PSP hits retail in the USofA. Looks like my friends that work at BestBuy will have to spring out of bed a litle early in order to open the doors at 8:30am Thursday too! According to Sundays paper, they are going to have a few specials for those with enough "expendable income" to fork over 250 bucks for one of these gizmos.

But, you have to get up pretty early in the morning over here to beat the folks from Amazon out of bed. Over at I4U they have discovered that the UMD minidisc movies can be had over there for less than a DVD!

Amazon.com has discounted the announced Sony PSP UMD movies by 30%, making them in some cases cheaper than the DVD version of the movie.

The Hellboy, XXX, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Resident Evil movies are available for $13.97 (List: $19.95). House of Flying Daggers sells for $20.27 (List: $28.95).
The first UMD movies ship April 19th.

For instance the Hellboy DVD sells for $14.96 on Amazon.com.
Imagine the prices fall to about $10 for an UMD movie, at that point I think a lot of people would buy those even if they already own the DVD version.

What do you think? Ten bucks to me is a good price for a movie that (at least for now) can only be played on a PSP. It's kind of odd that we are already seeing such deep discounts, the movies aren't even out yet. Boy I'd like to see Spiderman 2 on one of these PSP's.
