A studio executive told Variety Magazine two days ago that Angelina Jolie's Wanted could bring Blu-ray to the next level. Craig Kornblau, president of Universal Studios home entertainment, said this at the L.A. Film Festival.
Wanted is a new thriller that was applauded after it was shown at the L.A. audience, which is very rare. Kornblau believes that this movie will put Blu-ray on the map and could do the same for the format, like The Matrix did for DVD.
It's not sure when the movie will be released on Blu-ray, but it's expected to happen during holiday season accompanied with $200 priced Blu-ray players. Of course it's not sure whether there will be low-priced players then, but with all the rumouring expectation start to grow. "What The Matrix did for DVD, this could do for Blu-ray," said Kornblau.
