As some of you might have noticed, we had a little downtime half an hour ago. This was caused by the migration to the new server. After running for only 10 months, the old server (an AMD Duron 850 with 1024MB RAM) couldn't handle the extreme load you surfers create (90.000 hits per day at peaks) any longer. That's why we decided to upgrade our webserver to a brand new Pentium IV-2Ghz with 512MB of RAM and 2x 30GB Harddisks in RAID-1.
The server migration comes along with a new IP-number for our website. This migration can cause problems (be it with our website our email) for some ISP who don't update their DNS regularly. We're sorry if this causes any inconvenience.
But enough about the downside of an upgrade, let's enjoy the advantages.
Enjoy the new & faster CDFreaks!
Stay tuned for more improvements on the site in the coming months.
