I am sure some of you have read the MPAA FUD that has been circulating around on the net lately. Apparently my great country is responsible for 50% of the world's movie piracy, due to our lax copyright laws?
In Canada you can legally take a movie camera into a theatre and make a recording of the movie, as long as you are not going to distribute it. In Canada you can legally download music because of the levy that we pay on all recordable media. Obviously the MPAA and RIAA hates the fact that we have so much freedom to do what we want with our media.
Tell me how a little country of 30 million people, can seriously be responsible for this much piracy? What about all the piracy that happens in Asia, in Russia and India? Are they saying that we have more going on then those nations? How is it possible?? Of course they do blame it on our French counterparts in Montreal, so does this mean they think all French people are bad??
