CenDyne DVR-105 4x DVD-RW review @ CDRLabs.com

Our friends from
CDRLabs.com have wrapped up a new review of the CenDyne DVR-105 DVD-recorder. The
CenDyne drive, which is based on Pioneer's DVR-A05 drive, supports 4x DVD-R
recording and 2x DVD-RW recording:

It's
hard not to like CenDyne's new DVD writer. With its 4x DVD-R and 2x DVD-RW
writing speeds, the DVR-105 is one of the fastest DVD-RW drives currently
available. If you're willing to shell out the money for 4x DVD-R media, it
will take you less than 15 minutes to burn an entire DVD. Of course, the
drive's 2x DVD-RW writing speeds aren't nearly as fast, but they are a big
improvement over what earlier DVD-R/RW drives offered.

When it comes to reading and writing CD's, CenDyne's
DVD writer probably won't be taking the place of your CD-RW drive any time
soon. Even then, its speeds are a definite improvement over some of the
other DVD-RW drives we've looked at. In our tests, the DVR-105 was able to
read all types of CD media at 32x and had some pretty good DAE speeds. The
drive also had no problems ripping audio CD's at 32x and handled scratched
and dirty discs surprisingly well. On the other hand, the DVR-105's 16x
writing and 8x rewriting speeds aren't anything to write home about.
However, they should be more than enough if you need to write an
occasional CD or two.

The CenDyne DVR-105 gets an overall score of 8/10. If you're
