Consumer HD Camcorder: Canon enters into the market

After Sony 1080i High Definition HDD & DVD camcorders, also Canon will now enter in the market of Hi Definition, launching the HV10 HDV camcorder with interesting features:

The HV10 HDV camcorder combines Canon's world-class HD optics, with Super Range Optical Image Stabilization, DIGIC DV II image processor, and a Canon designed and manufactured Full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixles) CMOS sensor, similar to those found in Canon's full line of Digital SLR cameras.

Additionally, new 'Instant AF' auto-focus technology, and the ability to take 3.1-Megapixel photos, makes this one powerful device that fits comfortably in the palm of the hand.

Again, as for any first generation devices, prices are not so interesting, with an estimated selling price of $1299. Until a price drop, only professionals and digital video enthusiasts will now buy this new camcorder. Whereas most of the end-consumers probably must wait a bit longer.
