Blah used our newssubmit to tell us about an article in Japan Today. The article is about the female South Korean singer BoA's new song "Every Heart '” Minna no Kimochi". This CD would contain a copy protection which prevents users from 'illegaly' copy the CD... it turned out to be a hype.
...
The CDs bear a warning label stating the music cannot be played on certain players such as Apple Computer Inc's Macintosh personal computers or copied on CDs recordable (CD-Rs) and other devices.
Many buyers, however, quickly posted information on web sites saying the song can in fact be played on iMac PCs and copied on devices such as CD-Rs.
Avex says the CD can't be reproduced by many PC's (mostly MAC) but an official of the record company said that an effective copy-control technology has yet to be completed. Nice try avex
