Copyprotection on everything

Ever dreamt about a copyprotection on about every media available in stores and at websites?

Well I did, and I didn't like it. Guess what: there are plans to put a copy protection on everything.

Surprised? Angered? Going crazy? Read this story, submitted to us by Cezium.....

"WASHINGTON -- Music and record industry lobbyists are quietly readying an all-out assault on Congress this fall in hopes of dramatically rewriting copyright laws.

With the help of Fritz Hollings (D-S.C.), the powerful chairman of the Senate Commerce committee, they hope to embed copy-protection controls in nearly all consumer electronic devices and PCs. All types of digital content, including music, video and e-books, are covered."

Will they succeed? I guess when copy protections get embedded into our hardware it will be a lot harder to copy cd's and dvd's. What will solve this problem? Will some technical solution be the answer, or will boycotting the record labels etc help us out? Well, let's just wait and see. A lot can happen ofcourse. Anyway, I don't like this....
