It's so sad to see such a long running and respectful group being taken down:
John Sankus, 28, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, admitted his guilt in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, as part of a plea deal with prosecutors, they said. He will be sentenced on May 17, and could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Sankus was mainly responsible for managing and supervising day-to-day operations of one of the oldest software piracy groups on the Internet, the officials said.
They described DrinkorDie as a highly structured, security-conscious group that illegally reproduced and distributed hundreds of thousands of copies of copyrighted works around the world.
Members of the group rarely meet in person and frequently know each other only through their screen nicknames.
