DVD+Audio, (not DVD-A) a new format for audio enjoyment

harlequin used our news submit to tell us about a new DVD-Video compliant format that enables us to create some high quality or high capacity music discs, that play on a DVD player! This new software from Eximus may be something fun to experiment with.

What is DVD+Audio?

DVD+Audio is a DVD-Video compliant format, wich means that your normal standalone DVD player can play the DVD+Audio discs, no need to buy expensive new hardware.

You can create a disc containing multiple albums, compiled from your own normal CD-Audio disc, but then in either high quality (up to PCM 96kHz/24bits) or high quantity (up to 45 hours MP2 at 192kbps) audio to any DVD player.

Please note : DVD+Audio should not be confused with DVD-Audio, for which you need a special player and discs!

How does this magic work?
The heart of the program consists of two engines:

Extremely precise sample rate convertor. Resamples 44.1kHz CD-Audio to the 48kHz or 96kHz used on DVD.

Revolutionary resolution enhancement. Extends the 16 bit used on CD to the DVD compliant 24 bits.
Combining both engines, a DVD+Audio easily surpasses CD quality, and in the resulting sounds you can enjoy better imaging, clearer detail, deeper and tighter bass and a overal better sound experience.

DVD+Audio is not just any audio dithering or upsampling application, but a true revolution in sound processing!

But don't believe us, believe your own ears by downloading the trial version and convert some of your own favorite tracks into this new exciting format!

To obtain the real experience make sure that, the
input wavefiles are grabbed directly from the original CD, not from a
compressed source like MP3! Please note : DVD+Audio should not be
confused with DVD-Audio, for which you need a special player and
discs!

The trial version is a wee bit crippled so they recommend dragging out a re-writable disc. Two hours or four songs, plus fourteen day trial. But, if you didn't blow your eardrums out in a previous decade maybe you can appreciate the difference in sound quality.
