Easy solution to by-pass latest CD audio protections

softwareguy (via our Audio Forum), inssane, sguilly and Digital_Gangsta all used our newssubmit to tell us about a very simple but effective trick to by-pass the latest audio protections (CDS, Key2Audio):

The new copy protection mechanisms on audio CDs prevent users to make a copy for their own use. CHIP reader Karl sent us to this ingenious trick: a marker or sticker placed on the correct place of the CD, can make the annoying copy protection ineffective.



Two methods can be used both having their positive and negative points:

Post office sticker:

Simple to apply but can come off while disc is in the player due to high speeds.

The felt-tip pen method:

A very calm hand is necessary to draw the line...
