Engelmann Media has released a new tool to create DVD backups. The software
called D-C-S is able to rip, transcode and burn movie backups to a DVD
recorable. Some forum users report that the engine of D-C-S seems to be based on the technology of DVD95Copy, another tool to make DVD backups. D-C-S has however added functionality with a DVD ripper and burner. Here are the advertised features:
1:1 copies of DVD videos on DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW 1:1 copies of DVD videos on your harddisk 1:1 copies of DVD videos as images Transcoding of complete DVD videos (needs approx. 30 minutes, depending on the size of the DVD) Transcoding of selected parts of DVD videos Movie Only-Copy (copies just the main movie of a DVD video - transcoding needs approx. 10 minutes, depending on the size) Deselection of individual parts of a DVD video Splitting of a DVD video for two DVD recordables 1:1 copies of data and game DVDs Up to eight virtual drives, complete with image- and drive-management UDF support for balky DVD players Recording of DVDs with the integrated UDF recording engine |
