FarStone releases GameCopy, world's first game backup software

While surfing the
Internet I came across a
press release by FarStone in
which they announce a new software package called GameCopy. What's interesting
is that the company claims this software is the world's first game backup
software! Wow isn't that great!? But wait, what about software like
BlindWrite, CloneCD and Alcohol for example? I guess FarStone forgot
about those..

Irvine, CA- FarStone Technology, Inc. announced today the release
and availability of GameCopy™, the world's first ever PC game burning
software. The revolutionary new patent-pending technology is the first
software to enable users to make backup copies of their CD/DVD-ROM game
discs.
"We are very excited about the long-awaited release of
GameCopy™," said FarStone CEO Thomas Lin. "It's the only program of its
kind on the market. I think consumers will be excited to save hundreds of
dollars in replacing lost or damaged game discs by protecting their
investment with backup copies."GameCopy works with all four of the major copy
protections used on the most popular CD/DVD-ROM games (SafeDisc,
SafeDisc2, SecuROM and LaserLock). GameCopy™ is available for $ 59.99 on
the FarStone website and will be available in major retailers by the end
of the year. For more information about GameCopy™, please visit the
FarStone Technology
website.

Maybe if the software was freeware then it would be worth
checking out. I personally think paying US$ 60 for software like GameCopy is
ridiculous when you consider the alternative duplication software packages
that are available today. What do you think about this? Please react below and
tell us!
