Xiph.org, the foundation that is behind the Ogg Vorbis format has announced that it has signed an agreement with the company Digital Innovations to make a portable player that supports the Ogg Vorbis format. Ogg Vorbis is a lossy compression format that can be best compared with MP3.
The format can however be used without paying license fees. Ogg Vorbis is also standard supported by major music player Winamp and is gaining more and more popularity.
