Geek gadget; Kama Connect Scups-1000 IDE to USB adapter

D4rk0n3 used our news submit to tell us about yet another tantalizing, but rather sketchy report from Akihabara News. In this installation, they mention a device that will allow the end user to connect a HDD or even an optical disc burner to their PC externally. It's sort of a patch cable that plugs into the IDE interface on your drive and then allows you to connect to your PC via USB 2.0. Nice gadget, but unfortunately, no pricing or availability is mentioned, nor a link to the manufacturers website.

Update: According to a Computex report put together last June by the Administrator from Tech Powerup forums, the device also allows connecting Serial ATA devices. All adapters are included in the bundle. The product is available at Sythe, beginning in August, for $29.00US. They also say at the Sythe site, that it has SerialATA support and furthermore, Dual Mode Support. Allowing for simultaneously connecting S-ATA & ATAPI drives (*The combined maximum output of 2 drives has to be less than 12V=Max. 2000mA, 5V=Max. 2000mA each).
