Chip Online has put up a new review on their website. They have tested 10 8x-DVD burners for their strengths and weaknesses and listed them accordingly. Here's the translated conclusion:

LiteON delivered outstanding work: The burner is quiet, can be used versatilely and has no real weaknesses. We gave out the Best Value tip twice in this test. The burners of LG and NEC reach both the same score and are available for less than 100 euro. In the Chip Online price comparison you can get them for even less than that. The advantage of the LG lies in the fact that it's the only one in the test field, which is capable of writing DVD-RAM. The NEC on the other side perfomed somewhat better at the DVD burning. A word to the Pioneer and the NEC : They both delivered a drive, which burns without the approved 8x-minus-specifications. However, Pioneer is considered as a driving strength in the Minus-DVD-Forum. |
