New Android smartphones will come with less Google apps pre-installed. The developer of the Android operating system now allows phone manufacturers to ship phones with less of Google apps installed. Currently the phone manufacturers are only allowed to ship Android phones with the Play Store when they preinstall many of Google's apps.
Therefore Android phones currently come with apps like Gmail, Maps, Play Music, Play Books, Play Movies, Keep, Agenda, Google+ and Google Newsstand. Although some are used and loved by many users, not everyone appreciates the fact that they are installed by default on the phone, some can't even be removed.
Google's new policy now allows phone manufacturer to make a smaller selection of their apps. Apps like Google Play, Music and Movies and Google+ and Newsstand are no longer required. Users that still want to use these apps can still install them through the Google Play Store.
Although phones now receive less Google bloatware, it could potentially make more room for more bloatware from manufacturers. This is currently common in the computer industry, e.g many laptop manufacturers generate additional revenue by shipping their devices with pre-installed applications for which they are paid by the software vendor.
