Mexico City, May 19 (EFE).- Mexican police on Saturday arrested two alleged computer "pirates" who allegedly stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from Mexico's largest bank, the Banco Nacional de Mexico (Banamex). |
Police told the media that the suspects belonged to a hackers' network specializing in locating large bank deposits.
The pirates would then transfer the funds to other accounts, the Attorney General's Office said.
The suspects were caught by the police as they were in the process of withdrawing $108,695 dollars from a Banamex account that had received illegal transfers of money.
One of the suspects admitted to previously withdrawing $217,391 in a similar operation. EFE
