HD-DVD let's you buy what you see, with online shopping feature

You probably know the feeling, you're watching a James Bond movie and you really want to buy that Ashton Martin car. Of course, you could go to your car dealer the next day or order it when the movies is over. But maybe with all that champagne you've been drinking and the fooling around with the pretty girls you might have forgotten by then. What if you could shop while you watch?

This is what HD-DVD has released as a new feature on their discs. While it currently doesn't really work as intutive as it could, the movie producers are nowable to connect you to a store which sells products related to the movie.

The first movie to use this technology will be Evan Almighty to be released on the 9th of October. This movie will contain a simple browser that connects to Universal's online store, which will be offering products vaguely related to the movie. Previews of the site featured toilet paper made of recycled materials — 12 rolls for $14 — and a rain barrel for $135 (the movie is a retelling of the story of Noah's Ark).

You'll start loving this when your kids order overpriced Disney merchandise using this nifty feature!
