Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the two days that kick off the holiday shopping season for U.S. shoppers, and while financial analysts expect a gloomy shopping season, high-definition TVs are expected to be a hot seller this year.

iSupply analyst Riddhi Patel predicts 47" LCDs will be available for $800, 42" plasma sets for $500 and 32" LCDs for $400.
DisplaySearch estimates 40" LCD HDTV prices will fall by 31 percent in this current quarter, due to greater supply.
Consumers who don't mind having a TV larger than LCD HDTVs will be able to find 64" DLP models for less than $1,000 on Black Friday and moving forward.
If Black Friday sales numbers are unimpressive, expect manufacturers to further slash prices to help spur sales during a sluggish world economy. Name brand manufacturers often times do not cut costs as much as smaller companies, but vigilant searching can help reveal money saving deals.
