zmcnulty used our news submit to tell us that the Japanse website AV Watch has posted a press release in which they report that I-O Data will release two new DVD recorders this month. The drives, the DVR-ABN8 (internal) and the DVR-iUN8 (external), will cost around US$ 250 (DVR-ABN8) and US$ 290 (DVR-iUN8). The drives are based on the NEC ND-2500A DVD recorder and will support 8x recording to DVD+R and DVD-R media. The original press release is in
