DVDPlusRW.org has posted a roundup of all DVD+RW video recorders that could be seen on the IFA 2003 that was held recently in Berlin. These are all stand alone recorder that should eventually replace the current VHS VCR that is currently widespread in many homes.
The DVD+RW Alliance was present at IFA as well with their own booth, with 8 consumer recorders on display. A quick search at the fair ground however reveiled that some 20 other companies have introduced DVD+RW recorders, or plan to do so. This is remarkable, as the products from the companies on display at the rival format's promotion booths were actually the only products for these formats to be found at IFA. This resulted in a total of 4 brands with DVD-RAM recorders, and 4 with DVD-RW recorders (one of them combining this with DVD+RW functionality). |
About 20 companies announced DVD+RW recorder during the fair, brands including Apex, Daewoo, Lite-On and Yamaha. You can find the round up here.
