De cijfers liegen er niet om. Van de 244 stemmers zei 45% vaak gebruik te maken van illegale software - programma's zonder licentie. Eén derde van de christelijke Internetters zegt dat soms te doen, terwijl maar éen op de vijf het kopié«ren van software resoluut afwijst.
De poll ontstond nadat een christelijke surfer zich op de website afvroeg hoe mede-christenen omgingen met de verleiding van illegale software. Hij kopieé«rde vaak software en maakte langer dan toegestaan gebruik van zogeheten 'shareware'. "Op een gegeven moment kreeg ik een knagend gevoel aan mijn geweten," zei hij, "en na een gesprek met een vriend heb ik alles vernietigd."

Most christians not fair with software
AMERSFOORT - Christians on the internet copy software on a large scale without paying for it. They find buying to expensive and prefer to copy software despite it's illegality. This according to a poll on the christian website OneWay.nl.
The numbers don't lie. Of the 244 voters, 45% said they often used illegal software. One third of the christian surfers said they use illegal software occasionaly, and only 1 on 5 rejects the illegal copying.
The poll came on the website after a christian surfer asked himself what other christians thought of the temptation to use illegal software. He often copyed illegal software and used -longer then permitted- shareware software. "At one moment i got strocken by my conscience" he said, "and after a conversation with a friend i destroyed everything."
And:
The argument that software companies already make so much money is not a valid argument according to someone else. (....) "why don't they just steal a car out of the showroom, because Ford already has a billions profit and we have little cash"
