The Japanese
website AVWatch
reports that JVC has announced 3x DVD-RAM and 4x DVD-RW media. Recently we
announced that the
companies behind DVD-RAM were planning a speed increase and the availability of
this media underlines that the companies are working hard to get their speeds
up. Currently DVD-R and DVD+R are able to record up to 8x. The DVD-RAM media
should become available in Japanese stores at the 10th of February. The article
does not mention when and if this media becomes available in the US and
Europe.
Besides that, the company has also announced 4x
DVD-RW media and on the Japanese
website of JVC we can also find that the company will start shipments of 8x
DVD-R media.
