LAME v3.89 beta released

Thanx to both PoiSoN & RaDiX who used our newssubmit to tell us that LAME v3.89 has just been released to public.

This is the latest version of LAME, a good mp3 codecs that can be used with other mp3 encoders programs, such as AudioGrabber, Easy CD-DA Extractor, and many more. It is known that if you used LAME as the mp3 codecs engine when encoding, you'll get faster and better qualities than regular codecs.

What's new in this version :

-Long filename support for Win9x/NT.

-LAME can calculate the CRC of VBR header, so now "lame -pv" works fine.

-Improvements of the new VBR code.

-New VBR code is now defaulted. The VBR speed is now on par with CBR.
-Change of the maximum frame size limit. LAME should now be more friendly with hardware players.

-Size of VBR is now more balanced according to the -V value.

-Finished the implementation of the set/get functions.

-LAME now handles 24bits input

bugs in lame --decode causing truncation of mp3 file fixed

-preliminary --nogap support

-"Final" API completed: shared library safe! This API is frozen and should be backwords compatiable with future versions of libmp3lame.so, but we will continue to add new functionality
