D4rk0n3 used our news submit to tell us that LG electronics plans to release a new external super multi format drive the LG GSA-5168D. Most people will instantly wonder what makes this better than their previous external drives and for once it doesn't appear to be speed. What makes this drive so special is that fact that it can connected to a PC a TV, VCR, digital camera or any video source.
While details are pretty slim at the moment it seems this drive will support all the usual features of a super multi format drive including DVD+/-R, Dual Layer as well as DVD-RAM and Lightscribe. The drive will burn straight from a video source such as a TV or VCR, and will start recording by a one touch recording system.
Only a few details are known at this moment, but it seems that this model also burns DL and RAM and that it"s LightScribe too, and it can burn straight from a video source. The video capacity needs to be checked though, as well as the supported formats and the video quality. You can start burning a DVD by pushing a single button on the front of the device. |
