Yesterday our friends of CDRLabs posted another excellent review. This time the Lite-On LXR-40243A found its way to the test setup of CDRLabs. This drive writes at 40x, rewrites at 24x and reads CDs back at 40X. It connects to your PC using the USB2.0 interface and features Smart-Burn and Smart-X technologies to ensure the best writes and prevent buffer underruns.
| P If you are in the market for an external drive, you'll know that they are not as price competitive as internal versions. Internal drives don't require pricy high-performance external cabling or an external power supply either. And when it comes down to it, many people will take convenient & portable over fast. CD read and write speeds are at such a level that it would be impossible to fully shield an internal drive, let alone a light-weight external, so prepare for a little sound when it is ramped up. But hey, with the excellent performance of the Lite-On the drive finishes its tasks quickly enough so noise really isn't an issue. |
