Logitech is calling it quits on Google TV. The company announced that they would no longer be manufacturing their Revue, a set-top box designed around Google TV. Logitech went as far as to call their support of Google TV a horrible mistake.

Logitech CEO, Guerrino De Luca discussed Google TV and the Logitech Revue at an Analyst and Investor Day hosted by the company on Wednesday. De Luca called the Revue a “mistake of implementation of a gigantic nature.” The CEO blamed Google TV itself for the product’s downfall calling it a “beta” product.
De Luca revealed that Logitech has lost more than $100 million in operating profits on the Revue in the approximate one year it has been available to the public. The proposed solution was to simply let remaining stock of the Revue run out and not manufacture any more of the device.
The Verge reported that De Luca stated his opinion that Google TV wasn’t ready to launch when it actually debuted and Logitech made a major mistake in jumping on board with the product and feeling it was revolutionary.
"To make the long story short, we thought we had invented [sliced] bread and we just made them," DeLuca said. The company made a commitment to "just build a lot because we expected everybody to line up for Christmas and buy these boxes [at] $300...that was a big mistake."
This news comes just after Google pushed out the 2.0 version of Google TV which really improves the user experience in big ways. With this news, Sony is the only company who will continue to make a dedicated Google TV set-top box.
