The interesting thing is that the company has also announced 4X DVD+RW media, even though DVD-recorders do not support this speed yet (2.4X is currently the maximum speed for DVD+RW):

During its presentation to the CES of Las Vegas, Memorex has announced it will support the DVD "High Speed" standard. Nothing strange here albeit that in the list of "new entries" there are also DVD+RW media, currently bound to the traditional 2.4x multiplier. Second the announcement, to short the shelves of the stores, they will be rich of DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD+RW 4x, even if, for the DVD+RW, there is currently no hardware available that supports 4x.
