Besides the usual patch moment on the second Tuesday of each month, known as Patch Tuesday, Microsoft also regularly publishes optional Windows Updates that aren't security related. The optional patch round usually doesn't get much attention, but that's different this month.
Microsoft has released the whopping number of 34 optional updates. The company has added support for copying MKV files from a Windows computer to Windows Phones, a fix for Blu-ray backups, an issue with connecting two USB devices has been resolved and Microsoft has improved the Secure Channel for Windows 8.1, RT 8.1 and Server 2012 R2.
Also an error message that popped up when the computer came out of sleep mode has been fixed. All updates, of which most are for Windows 8.1 can be downloaded through Windows Update.
