NEC ND-1090A vs. Pioneer DVR-A05 vs. Sony DRU-500A - who wins ?

jsl used our newssubmit to tell us about a review posted by the German online magazine Chip.de. They compared the NEC ND-1090a (DVD+RW), Pioneer AO5 (DVD-RW) and the Sony-DRU500A (DVD±RW). As jsl adds, the review is in German but with Babelfish you should be able to understand parts of the review very well.

The victory goes to Sony but as the reviewer says; the drive doesn't function very well and still has a lot of flaws.

Badly Translated with Babelfish:

Purely subjectively the judgement precipitates over the combination burner of Sony completely differently: Too many features of the Sony burner do not function correctly, so that a certain disappointment makes itself broad.

The winner from our comparison however nevertheless only Sony Dru-500a can be called objectively regarded: The Sony can except our error CD everything that carries Pioneers out Drv-a05, and is thereby the clearly faster CD burner. DVD+R/RW functionality is to be understood despite all restrictions as bonuses
