According to a news published at networkworld, after only 4 months Panasonic will replace HD camcorders models SD1 and DX1 with the higher resolution SD card-based HDC-SD3 and DVD-based HDC-DX3.
The new models features full HD support and will capture video at 1,920 pixels by 1,080 pixels in their highest quality mode. Using a better compression on captured video, it will be possible to store 40 minutes of top-quality video on 4 GB SD card and 14 minutes per side on 8-centimeter DVD.
As usual, less appealing are prices: the HDC-SD3 will cost around ¥150,000 (about €954 or $1,270) and the HDC-DX3 will cost about ¥140,000 (about €890 or $1,190).
