New version of AnyDVD is now available - 1.6.3.7

x43 used our news submit to tell us that a new version of AnyDVD has been released.

AnyDVD is a utility that allows you to watch a DVD on a regioned drive even if the DVD is from a different region to what they drive is set to. It also allows DVD copying & backup software to copy a movie that's outside of the drives region. Unlike most other deregioning tools, it does not require the DVD-ROM's firmware to be changed or updated.

Changes from AnyDVD 1.6.3.3 to 1.6.3.7:

Minor Fix: Dialog Boxes could be displayed twice
Minor Fix: Autorun Patch didn't work on its own
No longer removes Pinnacle Driver Check
Added slovak language
Updated Russian, Portuguese and Danish languages
Updated ElbyCDIO
Windows 9x/ME: It was possible, that the driver
files were not updated by the installer

Deregioning tools are getting fairly popular now as people who travel abroad to visit relatives, go on holidays tend to buy CDs and DVDs. It seems kind of pointless of having a DVD that you cannot play just because your drive is region locked! So far, nearly every DVD-ROM drive can be patched for region free (although risky), but to avoid flashing the drive, this region free software should do the trick as well as providing other features such as removing Macrovision from video-out and removing locks such as disabling the next track button while showing the FBI/Copyright screen.
