OptoRite unveils 16x DVD writer with 4x DVD+R DL write speed

At OptoRite's website you can now find the specifications of the company's new 16x DVD writer. The drive has the model name DD1601 and supports 16x/4x DVD+R/RW, 8x/4x DVD-R/RW and 4x DVD+R DL as well as 40x/24x CD-R/RW.

While OptoRite DVD writers have so far been based on Sanyo chipsets the support for Seamless Link technology indicates that the new DD1601 is based on Philips chipset. This also explains why the DD1601 does not support the HD-BURN feature found in OptoRite's previous models. More information about the DD1601 is available here.
