Recently we reported on CD Freaks that Plextor has upgraded their utility software PlexTools. This software comes with Plextor drives and can be used to perform several tasks with the drive. For those who don't need the features of Aheads Nero you can even copy CD's with it.
I just tested this function with my Plextor 24/10/40 and noticed a new option 'hidden' in the preferences menu - '1st session only'
The option that is probably added for other reasons is however very usefull for those that want to backup protected audio CD's. For example Cactus DataShield's first session is an audio session that contains the music, and the rest of it is full of unusefull data that is part of the protection.
Enabling the 1st session only option in Plextools
(--> CD Copy --> Preferences --> first session only ) should solve problems when trying to backup these kind of CD's.
