Big thanks to club CDFreaks members hwp and yangxi for posting information about the new Plextor PX-760A DVD burner. This new offering from Plextor is capable of an amazing 18x write speed on 16x single layer DVD media and an incredible 10x write speed on DVD+R Double Layer media. According to these specifications, the PX-760A drive should be the world's fastest single layer and double layer DVD burner. The first graph above shows that the Plextor PX-760A uses Constant Angular Velocity (CAV) to burn single layer DVD media at 18x. The second graph shows that the PX-760A can burn DVD+R DL media at 10x using Partial-Constant Angular Velocity (P-CAV). The PX-750A was also announced, which supports reading and
writing to DVD-RAM. The PX-750A has a maximum write speed of 16x for single
layer DVD media and 8x for double layer DVD media. Discuss this news in
