Plextor Europe releases new firmware versions for several drives

Plextor Europe has just released new firmware versions for their PX-W4012TS (v1.02), PX-S2410TU (v1.01) and  PX-504A (v1.01) CD/DVD recorders. Our thanks also goes to Confuser for submitting this news:

Plextor PX-W4012TS firmware v1.02:
    Fixed Bugs:
  • Compatibility with InCD4
  • Cannot read CD-text data after mounting a MRW disc
    Improvements:
  • Read performance for GigaRec discs
  • Read performance for >99min Audio CD's
  • 1X Write performance on CD-R media (Taiyo Yuden, Mitsubishi Chemical, Ritek, Acer, CMC)

Plextor PX-S2410TU firmware v1.01:

    Fixed Bugs:
  • A UDF formatted CD-R would be recognised as Audio CD (Windows XP systems only)
  • Fixed packet writing on USB1.1 could cause a buffer underrun error
    Improvements:
  • Write performance on Mitsubishi Chemical CD-R media

Plextor PX-504A firmware v1.01:

    Fixed Bugs:
  • Hang-up during fixed packet writing with DirectCD
    Improvements:
  • Write quality for CD-R and CD-RW media
    WARNING: Hang-up can occur under several conditions during Firmware Upgrade.
    It is recommended:
  • to disable Auto Insert Notification
  • to connect the drive as Master to the secondary port
  • to disable Intel Ultra ATA driver or SIS IDE BUS Master driver
