Via this thread in our Plextor Forum, forum member cvs lets us know that Plextor Japan has posted firmware 1.03 on their website for the Plextor PX-712A and PX-712SA (S-ATA) DVD recorders. After using Altavista's Babel Fish, the translated Japanese change log gives us the following information:
|  Plextor PX-712A/SA firmware 1.03:
- Improved DVD recording performance
- DVD-R mount recognition time shortened
- Corrected DVD+RW bug; sometimes discs recorded with other drives would be recognized as blank discs
- Added DVD+R DL read support
