While we're in a middle of a discussion about Plextor and SafeDisc 2 I received a mail about a website update on the Plextor site. They've updated some firmwares. Well I have my ideas about this, and probably you can read my mind.
Officially these are the updates for the PX - W1210TS V1.02:
Fixed Bugs: - Support for TDK 80min CD-R media (Made in Europe) - Hang up in following combination: i440BX / Windows Me / EZ CD Creator / DMA Mode / 16X writing - Some recorded CD-RW could not be initialised CD-Extra (8cm) was recognised as Audio Cd |
Improvements:
- Reading of ISRC/UPC code is done at higher speed
- Write performance for various discs and High Speed CD-RW media
And these are the fixes and improvements for the PX-W1610TA:
Fixed Bugs: - Hang up in following combination: ABIT-2 / DMA Mode - Hang up in following combination: i440BX / Windows Me / EZ CD Creator / DMA Mode / 16X writing - Boot problems on Compaq Prosignia 320 - Packet Writing with small packets |
Improvements:
- Write performance and Burn-Proof performance
- Read performance
Well, let's hope they also did some unofficial updates, if you know what I mean Please let us know ! These drives are for now not on our list.
