Printer with internal DVD burner reviewed @PCmag

In case you wondered, no that title is not just to attract your attention, nor is it wrong. The reviewers at PCmag.com received a printer from HP that includes a dual layer Lightscribe burner. Yes, why bother with an external DVD burner if you can have it in your printer.

The printer, the HP Photosmart C8180 has many options, it comes with a touchscreen to get rid of all the button clutter, has Bluetooth and Wifi aboard and can read data from a wide array of flash memory formats.

But it comes with a Lightscribe burner andwhy not? Using the Roxio software, that comes with it, you can put Lightscribe labels directly on the CD/DVD and if that's too much trouble you can also enter text on the touch screen.

My bet would be that the drive is from Lite-On, who also has the license for selling optical disc drives by the HP brand,  but specifications on how fast and what else it supports have not been given. If you buy it as a printer you probably don't care anyway. Oh, and regarding that, obviously it print, does some pretty good job at it too, I believe, if you are in to all that, then just head over to the PCMag review here.

If you are a true CDFreaks then this should be a device for your collection, then again it will cost you $400, but hey then at least you've got a DVD burner that can scan more than just with Nero CD/DVD Speed.
