Despite facing growing pressure from Hollywood, rental kiosk Redbox is now offering $2 video game rentals at select locations.
For $2 per night, interested parties can rent video games for the Nintendo DS, Wii, Sony PlayStation 2 and 3, and the Microsoft Xbox 360 game consoles. The actual game selection is rather lackluster at the moment, but should increase in the coming months.
Redbox sent some users an e-mail with the following message: "Redbox Now Rents Video Games For Just $2 Per Night!"
I've used the Redbox service before for movie rentals -- $0.99 per night -- and have been somewhat pleased with service, but I'll be interested to hear your thoughts about Redbox video game rentals. Blockbuster currently charges $9 for five nights, and most people likely aren't going to be able to get through an entire video game in a day or two.
