A Russian security expert has developed a device that looks like a regular USB stick but in fact destroys computers. The USB stick sends a 220 Volt charge to the computer bricking it in seconds.
The stick is developed by Russian security expert Dark Purple and according to him it can pretty much destroy any device with an USB port. USB Killer 2.0 is, as the name reveals, the second iteration of the device. The first version of the device used 110 Volts to fry hardware, half of the current 220 Volt.
In a video posted on Youtube, Dark Purple shows how he inserts the stick into a computer and damages the computer in such a way that it no longer starts. The HDD appears to have survived the attack.
