Samsung had already began to sell a Blu-ray laptop in its native South Korea and now the model M55 will now have the option of a HD-DVD burner, thereby covering whichever High Def. option you might want. This multimedia machine offers a 17-inch screen powered by a GeForce 7600, a Core 2 Duo T7200 CPU and a 120GB SATA hard drive, along with the almost mandatory WiFi. Price works out to about $3200 US but there is no information as to whether the M55 will be offered in the U.S. with HD-DVD. The company had been one of the earliest backers of Blu-ray technology.
