MARIN COUNTY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 29,
2003--Sonic Solutions today announced the launch of a new seminar series
entitled Real World DVD to be offered starting today through September of this

education, training, corporate, government, and film. Featuring examples of
finished titles and how they were created, the Real World DVD seminar is

DVD is the standard for delivering high-quality
content to millions of people in every market segment. Using Sonic's
industry-proven professional DVD creation technology, creative professionals can
easily encode video and audio content, author exciting menus and interactivity,
burn the most compatible DVDs, and distribute their titles faster and easier
than ever before. The Real World DVD tour is designed to provide creative
professionals with the information they need to design and promote DVD titles
quickly and easily.

"At Real World DVD, attendees will gain knowledge
and understanding of DVD production, how the latest technological advancements
have made it extremely easy to begin offering professional DVD services, and how
the approach to creating titles for one application can differ from another,"
said Simon James, Marketing Manager for the Professional Products Group at
Sonic. "In addition to highlighting real-world examples of professional DVD
titles that will inspire their own designs, attendees will discover Sonic's
complete authoring solutions in action and learn how easy it has become to
harness the power of DVD for their own business."

The Real World DVD seminar tour will expand on a
focused range of topics including the streamlined workflow of MPEG encoding,
software transcoding, and OpenDVD(TM) interchange that allows finished DVDs to
be edited and revised without reference to any original source materials.
Sonic's navigation programming interface, JumpAnywhere(TM), that provides users
with the ability to create highly advanced title programming with a simple
point-and-click interface will also be discussed and demonstrated.

Seminar speakers will explain workflow concepts,
including planning a DVD title to ensure that its production progresses smoothly
and without bottlenecks, and determining the type of disc to be created by
evaluating factors such as levels of interactivity, chapter points, length on
content, and need for templates. Determining the types of assets required, what
types of audio work best, different approaches to encoding material, the use of
third-party tools, and techniques for keeping track of assets will also be
discussed. In addition, attendees will learn why authoring professional-level
DVD titles take skills, creativity, and the right tools and techniques.
Attendees will discover time-proven techniques to create compelling DVD content,
including building templates, making interactive quizzes, and time-saving tricks
to help them create discs more productively.

Real World DVD seminars have been scheduled
throughout the United States, through mid-September 2003. To register or to
